What niche is NLP(Natural language processing)?

First of all let us answer, What NLP( natural language processing) is?

It is the trendy technology that develops machines that according to IBM “ understand and respond to text or voice data—and respond with text or speech of their own—in much the same way humans do.”

NLP is an area of computer science, more specifically AI that takes raw or plain text or speech as input and transforms it into data that machines can understand. Hence, the niche of NLP is broadly computer science and more specifically it is AI or artificial intelligence.

 These data are then analyzed by machine learning or statistical means for generating text or speech. The technologies of computational linguistics namely statistical, machine learning, and deep learning models are utilized to process human language in the form of text or voice. 

The processing of the text is utilized to understand the meaning of the source data, complete the speaker’s intent or a sentence or generate a text or image as a response.

NLP is widely used in many linguistic, robotic, computer vision, and image applications to serve as artificial intelligence in performing many tasks.

The technology of NLP is used in chatbots, translation of language, voice-operated GPS systems, digital assistants, and in streamlining business and production processes.
